Community Design Collaborative

Our Goal

Raising awareness about design and community revitalization.

Philadelphia and other cities are experiencing key community development challenges.

Services we provided
  • Brand Building
  • Collateral Material
  • Media Relations
  • Community Engagement

In 2005, one of Philadelphia’s most creative nonprofits, the Community Design Collaborative, developed a program that brings together talented minds to address the city’s most pressing issues with innovative design solutions. The William Penn Foundation funded the thinking, the Collaborative brought it to life, and Sage helped to build a brand for “Infill Philadelphia.”

Over the years, the Sage team has publicized six Infill installments, each with a different focus. The key community development challenges have included transforming sacred places, prioritizing play spaces, reusing industrial sites, promoting food access, revitalizing commercial corridors, and developing affordable housing.

Our work included developing a brand strategy for the program, creating collateral materials, and sharing results with policymakers and other influential markets. We are also proud to have gained local, regional, national—and even international—coverage for the initiative throughout its existence.
